Welcome to wellyouneedit, a blog mostly dedicated to jazz in the present tense. Here is where I share some spur-of-the-moment thoughts or rants about this beautiful African-American artform. Why bother when the blogosphere is glutted with similar and much more erudite endeavors? Well, go figure. Other subjects will pop in occasionally, reflecting some of the things that come up on my cultural radar.
Born September 1981 in Champagne-Ardenne, France, Jean-Charles Ladurelle has lived in Paris since 2004. His interests include music, jazz, literature, poetry, dance, among other things. Also, he picked up the upright bass after catching a Bad Plus show in 2005. Since then, he has been trying hard to hone his skills on the instrument. He has cobbled together a living from various translation-related jobs, working the night shift at a hotel front desk, and currently teaching English and French lessons.
